Ravlić families are Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina. According to some sources they are from dalmatinske zagore (Poljica, near Vrgorca). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Derventa area) and in Vrgorac. In places Poljica Kozička and Kozica in Vrgorac every eighth inhabitant had the family name Ravlić.
Prevalence
About 1300 people with faimily name Ravlić live in Croatia today, in 490 households. There were 330 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 54 cities and 79 other places, mostly in Zagreb (320), Makarska (185), Sesvete (80), Split (75), and in Slavonski Brod (75).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
