Radonjić families can be both Croats (the family name originates from Bosnian Posavina ) and Serbs and Montenegrins (from Rijeka ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Modrica area) and in Doboj, Bosnia (Doboj area).
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Radonjić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than tripled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (25), Osijek (10), Slatina (<10), and in Gabos in Vinkovci area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1925 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
