Radonić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Vrgorac , less frequently Serbs and Montenegrins. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Vrgorac and Split. In Kotezi in Vrgorac every sixth inhabitant had the family name Radonić.
Prevalence
About 710 people with faimily name Radonić live in Croatia today, in 310 households. There were 760 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 43 cities and 54 other places, mostly in Zagreb (105), Split (50), Kotezi (45), Stari Grad on the Island of Hvar (40), and in Gruda in Dubrovnik area (40).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
