Radetić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Rovinj area , s according to some sources from Montenegro, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Rijeka. In Barat in Rovinj area every third inhabitant had the family name Radetić.
Prevalence
About 670 people with faimily name Radetić live in Croatia today, in 300 households. There were 730 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 77 other places, mostly in Pula (70), Rovinj (55), Zagreb (40), Rijeka (30), and in Matulji in Opatija area (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
