Radan families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Sinj area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Sinj.
Prevalence
About 690 people with faimily name Radan live in Croatia today, in 300 households. There were 570 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 35 cities and 50 other places, mostly in Split (180), Zagreb (70), Dugopolje in Solin area (65), Hrvace in Sinj area (45), and in Sinj (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
