Puljić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia. According to some sources vuku korijene from Italy, very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Herzegovina (Mostar area) and in Middle Bosnia (Kresevo area). In Deževice in Middle Bosnia every second inhabitant had the family name Puljić.
Prevalence
About 1100 people with faimily name Puljić live in Croatia today, in 460 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 59 cities and 98 other places, mostly in Zagreb (250), Split (115), Runovic in Imotski area (100), Rijeka (35), and in Djakovo (35).
Outside Croatia
Family name Puljić (including: Puljic , Puljich ) is present in 18 countries on three continents. The family name "Puljic " is used by some 600 people in Germany , about 200 in the United States , and some 100 people in Australia.
