Prša families are Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia). According to some sources they are from Lika. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area) and in Gospic area. In places Međudražje and Veliki Skočaj in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every seventh inhabitant had the family name Prša.
Prevalence
About 990 people with faimily name Prša live in Croatia today, in 400 households. There were 660 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 47 cities and 94 other places, mostly in Zagreb (255), Licki Osik (45), Sesvete (35), Osijek (35), and in Slavonski Brod (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
