In Croatia, Prusić families are almost entirely Croats (from Labin area ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and in Pazin area. In Balići I in Pazin area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Prusić.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Prusić live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in two Croatian counties, two cities and 7 other places, mostly in Balici I in Pazin area (<10), Zatka Cepic in Labin area (<10), Zminj in Pazin area (<5), Polje Cepic in Labin area (<5), and in Rovinj (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1729 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
