In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and Zagreb. In Rosopajnik in Duga Resa area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Princ.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Princ live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 50 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, four cities and 8 other places, mostly in Klana in Opatija area (<10), Topusko in Glina area (<10), Gradec in Vrbovec area (<10), Sisak (<5), and in Bedekovcina in Lepoglava area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
