Pribić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Otocac area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Otocac area. In Željava in Otocac area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Pribić.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Pribić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 11 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Slakovci in Vinkovci area (<10), Vrelo Korenicko in Otocac area (<10), Krs in Gospic area (<10), and in Varazdin (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
