Pražić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Gospic area , whereas often Croats (from Slavonski Brod ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Gospic area. In Mlakva in Gospic area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Pražić.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Pražić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (10), Gospic (<5), Jezevik in Slavonski Brod area (<5), and in Kutina (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
