In Croatia, Požnjak families are almost entirely Croats (from Zapresic area ), barely Macedonians (from Zagreb ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Osijek. In Stari Zdenkovac in Pleternica area every fiftieth inhabitant had the family name Požnjak.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Požnjak live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in four Croatian counties, threee cities and four other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Osijek (<10), in Jakovlje (<10) and Kraljev Vrh (<5) in Zapresic area, and in Ceminac in Beli Manastir area (<5).
