Polovina families can be both Serbs and Croats (from Djakovo area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Ogulin. In Mazoče in Podrinje (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Polovina.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Polovina live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 280 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Rijeka (20), Petrinja (15), Donji Andrijevci in Djakovo area (10), and in Gomirje (<10).
