Plančić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Hvar , less frequently Bosniaks (from Bosnian Posavina ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zagreb. In Ripna in Middle Bosnia every second inhabitant had the family name Plančić.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Plančić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Stari Grad on the Island of Hvar (15), Split (10), Svirce on the Island of Hvar (10), and in Sibenik (<10).
