Pezić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Banja Luka area (Bosnia). According to some sources they are from Dalmatinske Zagore, very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area) and in Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 450 people with faimily name Pezić live in Croatia today, in 180 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 29 cities and 42 other places, mostly in Zagreb (75), Kutina (40), Petrinja (40), Podgradje in Zlatar area (30), and in Pula (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
