In Croatia, Persi families are predominantly Italians (from Novigrad ), rarely Croats (from Labin ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Labin and Pula.
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Persi live in Croatia today, in four households only. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in four Croatian cities only: in Pula (<5), Rabac (<5), Rijeka (<5), and in Novigrad (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over sixty times, the first time 1672 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
