Peričić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Novi Vinodolski. According to some sources they are from Vrhbosna area and Sukosan, where they immigrated from Bune (Bosnia) or Vrlika, very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zadar. In Gornji Zagon in Novi Vinodolski every fourth inhabitant had the family name Peričić.
Prevalence
About 610 people with faimily name Peričić live in Croatia today, in 250 households. There were 420 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 40 cities and 43 other places, mostly in Split (95), Zagreb (70), Novi Vinodolski (60), Zadar (55), and in Crikvenica (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
