Pepelko families are Croats and they are mostly from Ludbreg area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Krizevci and Varazdin. In Martinić in Ludbreg area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Pepelko.

About 150 people with faimily name Pepelko live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 190 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Jalzabet in Ludbreg area (15), Sveta Helena (10), Martinic in Ludbreg area (10), and in Bartolovec in Varazdin area (<10).
