Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Pelja live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in threee Croatian counties, in 6 cities and two other places, mostly in Trogir (10), Split (<10), Blizna Donja in Trogir area (<10), Kastel Gomilica (<5), and in Seget Donji in Trogir area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
