Pedišić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Pasman. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar and Zagreb. Na otoku Pašmanu every ninth inhabitant had the family name Pedišić.
Prevalence
About 270 people with faimily name Pedišić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 80 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Zadar (80), Zagreb (50), Pasman on the Island of Pasman (40), Turanj in Biograd na moru area (40), and in Banj on the Island of Pasman (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
