Pavlov families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Kastel Sucurac , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Kastel Sucurac. In Kaštel Gomilica in Kastel Sucurac every fifth inhabitant had the family name Pavlov.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Pavlov live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 170 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Kastel Gomilica (95), Split (25), Zagreb (25), Tisno on the Island of Murter (15), and in Osijek (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
