Pavlinović families are Croats and they are mostly from Makarska area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Vrgorac. In Miši in Western Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Pavlinović.
Prevalence
About 370 people with faimily name Pavlinović live in Croatia today, in 150 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 29 other places, mostly in Makarska (105), Zagreb (55), Split (55), Rascane (20), and in Slavonski Brod (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
