Pavačić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Krk. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and on the Island of Krk. In Polje on the Island of Krk every eighth inhabitant had the family name Pavačić.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Pavačić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Rijeka (40), Velika Gorica (<10), Cavle in Rijeka area (<10), and in Silo (<10) and Klimno (<10) on the Island of Krk.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
