In Croatia, Paulik families are generally Croats (from Osijek area ), rarely Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ), and very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Nova Gradiska.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Paulik live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in only five naselja i to in Zagreb (10), Cepin in Osijek area (<10), Sesvete (<5), Nova Gradiska (<5), and in Suza in Beli Manastir area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
