Paradžik families are Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina. According to some sources they are from Vitina and Glamoc (Bosnia) and from Grude (Herzegovina). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Modrica area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Samac area). In places Riječani Donji and Prud in Bosanian Posavina every tenth inhabitant had the family name Paradžik.
Prevalence
About 550 people with faimily name Paradžik live in Croatia today, in 210 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 66 other places, mostly in Zagreb (110), Semeljci in Djakovo area (40), Split (35), Osijek (25), and in Vinkovci (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
