Papp families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Osijek , but often Hungarians (also from Osijek ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Papp live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Osijek (15), Varazdin (<10), Koprivnica (<10), and in Dalj in Vinkovci area (<10).

Family name Papp is present in 70 countries worldwide. The family name "Papp " is used by some 50000 people in Hungary , about 8000 in the United States , and some 5000 people in Romania.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
