Pajur families are Croats and they are mostly from Sveti Ivan Zelina area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Sveti Ivan Zelina. In Vukovje Zelinsko in Sveti Ivan Zelina every third inhabitant had the family name Pajur.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Pajur live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties and 13 other places, mostly in Dvorisce (30) and Rakovec (10) in Sveti Ivan Zelina area, Vukovje Zelinsko (<10), Bukovec Zelinski (<10), and in Zagreb (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
