Pajić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), often Serbs, very rarely Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area) and in Rama, Bosnia (Prozor area). In Pajići in Rama (Bosnia) every fourth inhabitant had the family name Pajić.
Prevalence
About 750 people with faimily name Pajić live in Croatia today, in 360 households. There were 460 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 59 cities and 117 other places, mostly in Zagreb (135), Rijeka (55), Karlovac (30), Vinkovci (25), and in Vukovar (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
