Oštrić families are Croats and they are mostly from Novigrada. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Trogir area and in Zagreb. In Blizna Donja in Trogir area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Oštrić.
Prevalence
About 560 people with faimily name Oštrić live in Croatia today, in 250 households. There were 550 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 47 other places, mostly in Zagreb (95), Blizna Donja in Trogir area (60), Pridraga in Novigrad Area in Dalmatia (60), Rijeka (45), and in Zadar (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
