In Croatia, Oruč families are mainly Croats (from Kastel Sucurac ), rarely Serbs, and very rarely Bosniaks (from Middle Bosnia ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin and Kastel Sucurac. In Sejdanovići in Middle Bosnia nearly every inhabitant had the family name Oruč.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Oruč live in Croatia today, in 17 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Zagreb (10), Jalsevec Breski (<10), Stari Jankovci in Vinkovci area (<10), Split (<10), and in Zadar (<10).
