Olujić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Imotski area (Prolozac), less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Derventa area) and in Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 680 people with faimily name Olujić live in Croatia today, in 310 households. There were 510 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 40 cities and 51 other places, mostly in Zagreb (210), Split (95), Osijek (40), and in Opanci (35) and Lovrec (25) in Imotski area.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
