Odobašić families are often Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , less frequently Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia) and Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slavonski Brod and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area).
Prevalence
About 460 people with faimily name Odobašić live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 41 cities and 43 other places, mostly in Slavonski Brod (110), Zagreb (40), in Donja Vrba (40) and Gornja Vrba (30) in Slavonski Brod area, and in Kraljevac in Bjelovar area (15).

Family name Odobašić is present in 16 countries on four continents. The family name "Odobasic " is used by some 200 people in Germany , about 100 in the United States , and some 90 people in Egypt.
