Nježić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Bosnian Krajina , whereas often Croats (from Rijeka ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Kutina and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Nježić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Slabinja in Hrvatska Kostajnica area (15), Rijeka (10), Bjelovar (<10), and in Varazdin (<10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Nježić is present in two countries on two continents. The family name "Njezic " is used by small number of people in the United States.
