Nađ families are often Croats and they are mostly from Prelog area , less frequently Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ) and Rusyns (from Vukovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and Vinkovci.
Prevalence
About 1200 people with faimily name Nađ live in Croatia today, in 540 households. There were 1500 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 55 cities and 152 other places, mostly in Osijek (135), Zagreb (95), Cepin in Osijek area (55), Vinkovci (45), and in Kotoriba in Prelog area (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over sixty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
