In Croatia, Muhić families are predominantly Croats (from Ozalj ), rarely Bosniaks (from Tuzla Region (Bosnia) ), and barely Albanians (from Zadar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Cazin area). In Kupusovići in Podrinje (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Muhić.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Muhić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Vodnjan in Pula area (10), Pula (<10), Gunja in Zupanja area (<10), and in Polje Ozaljsko (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
