In Croatia, Mravić families are almost entirely Croats (from the Island of Rab ), very rarely Montenegrins (also from the Island of Rab ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Rab and in Rijeka.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Mravić live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in two Croatian counties, threee cities and four other places, mostly in Palit (15) and Kampor (15) on the Island of Rab, Rijeka (<10), Drazice in Rijeka area (<10), and in Virovitica (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1937 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
