Mojaš families are Croats and they are mostly from Dubrovnik area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and in Dubrovnik area. In Doli in Dubrovnik area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Mojaš.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Mojaš live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and 12 other places, mostly in Dubrovnik (40), Doli in Dubrovnik area (20), Ston on the Peljesac peninsula (<10), Zagreb (<10), and in Split (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
