In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area). In Veliki Skočaj in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every sixth inhabitant had the family name Mlinarić.

They are located in all Croatian counties, in 74 cities and 270 other places, mostly in Zagreb (510), Cakovec (65), Vucak (60), Varazdin (50), and in Jalzabet in Ludbreg area (50).
