Milčić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Karlovac , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Karlovac and Zagreb. In Ladvenjak in Karlovac every fifth inhabitant had the family name Milčić.
Prevalence
About 400 people with faimily name Milčić live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 510 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 22 cities and 31 other places, mostly in Karlovac (95), Zagreb (70), Ladvenjak (65), Duga Resa (30), and in Zapresic (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1664 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
