Milošević families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Kraljevica area. According to some sources they are Udbina or from Bosnia, often Serbs, and rarely Montenegrins. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Osijek. In Višća Gornja in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) every second inhabitant had the family name Milošević.
Prevalence
About 2200 people with faimily name Milošević live in Croatia today, in 1100 households. There were 2300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 87 cities and 214 other places, mostly in Zagreb (315), Rijeka (175), Pula (90), Osijek (75), and in Split (70).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over seventy times, the first time 1516 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
