Miljuš families are predominantly Serbs and they are mostly from Knin area , less frequently Croats (from Split ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Zagreb. In places Deringaj and Donji Srb in Knin area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Miljuš.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Miljuš live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 550 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 33 cities and 30 other places, mostly in Zagreb (55), Split (20), Rijeka (20), Osijek (15), and in Jarmina in Vinkovci area (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
