Miljenović families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Duga Resa area , whereas often Croats (from Ozalj area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Duga Resa area and in Karlovac. In places Mala Crkvina and Zagorje in Duga Resa area every third inhabitant had the family name Miljenović.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Miljenović live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 18 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Karlovac (25), Mala Crkvina in Duga Resa area (20), Novo Pracno (<10), and in Varazdin (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
