Miličević families are often Croats and they are mostly from Herzegovina , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Herzegovina (Posusje area) and in Middle Bosnia (Bugojno area). In places Poklečani and Vrpolje in Herzegovina every seventh inhabitant had the family name Miličević.
Prevalence
About 2300 people with faimily name Miličević live in Croatia today, in 910 households. There were 710 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 84 cities and 215 other places, mostly in Zagreb (445), Split (95), Sesvete (90), Vinkovci (80), and in Djakovo (65).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over fifty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
