Milina families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Korcula. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on the Island of Korcula. In Lumbarda on the Island of Korcula every sixth inhabitant had the family name Milina.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Milina live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 280 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Lumbarda on the Island of Korcula (160), Split (45), Prugovo in Solin area (30), Zagreb (20), and in Dubrovnik (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
