In Croatia, Mikuša families are almost entirely Croats (from Beli Manastir area ), very rarely Hungarians (also from Beli Manastir area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Samobor and in Beli Manastir area.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Mikuša live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, threee cities and 9 other places, mostly in Rakov Potok (25), Draz in Beli Manastir area (<10), Osijek (<10), Lucko (<5), and in Daruvarski Brestovac in Daruvar area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
