Midžić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), less frequently Bosniaks (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area) and in Osijek. In Čakići in Middle Bosnia every seventh inhabitant had the family name Midžić.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Midžić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 80 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Rijeka (10), Osijek (<10), Nasice (<10), and in Petrijevci in Valpovo area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
