In Croatia, Mazi families are generally Croats (from the Island of Krk ), rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Rijeka.
Prevalence
About 10 people with faimily name Mazi live in Croatia today, in five households only. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in three Croatian cities only: in Zagreb (<10), Krk on the Island of Krk (<5), and in Rijeka (<5).
