Matušin families are Croats and they are mostly from Novi Marof. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Novi Marof and Varazdin. In Donje Makojišće in Novi Marof every tenth inhabitant had the family name Matušin.
Prevalence
About 210 people with faimily name Matušin live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 27 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Donje Makojisce (35), Varazdin (20), Donji Miholjac (10), and in Ostrice (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1932 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
