Maslać families are Croats and they are mostly from Neum (Herzegovina). According to some sources they are from Metkovic area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Neum, Herzegovina (Neum area) and in Herzegovina (Capljina area). In Borut in Neum (Herzegovina) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Maslać.
Prevalence
About 540 people with faimily name Maslać live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 30 cities and 40 other places, mostly in Zagreb (135), Metkovic (60), Dubrovnik (50), Vinkovci (30), and in Mokosica (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1938 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
