About 50 people with faimily name Marolt live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and threee other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Osijek (10), Strmec in Samobor area (<10), Novi Glog in Krizevci area (<10), and in Zapresic (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
